  • PHILOSOPHY

    The Technology and Engineering Education Department is committed to delivering a standards-based curriculum unified by the three systems of biotechnology, information technology and physical technology through the application of tools, materials, processes, and systems to solve problems and provide solutions that improve the world. Technology and Engineering Education provides students with the opportunity to apply math and science principles and see their relevance through minds-on/hands-on activities embracing a holistic approach to learning by combining content, processes, and skills. Technology and Engineering Education develops technological literacy by using a project-based approach focusing on the evolution of technology, the design process, and computational thinking; while, analyzing the impacts on society, culture, and the environment. In addition, opportunities are provided for students to explore careers and to acquire consumer skills and economic concepts.
