    • Mr. David E. Deramo has contributed to the field of public education for more than 25 years, most recently as principal of Ingomar Middle School since 2018. At Ingomar Middle School, Mr. Deramo has established a culture of high expectations for student academic achievement while prioritizing the social and emotional needs of students.

“It has been my pleasure to work alongside the dedicated, caring faculty and staff at Ingomar Middle School, who have continued to go above and beyond for students in every way,” said Mr. Deramo. “We take great pride in creating opportunities for students to showcase their talents in academics, extra-curricular activities, athletics, and the arts. I am excited to continue to serve the students, staff, and the community in a greater role within the school district.”

Prior to joining the North Allegheny School District in 2018, Mr. Deramo served as Assistant Superintendent (K-12) within the South Fayette Township School District. In the role of Assistant Superintendent at South Fayette, Mr. Deramo coordinated the K-12 curriculum, was instrumental in helping to create the district’s comprehensive strategic plan, and was responsible for the implementation of the professional educator’s induction program for ongoing professional development and teacher training.

In addition to serving as Assistant Superintendent at South Fayette, Mr. Deramo also served as Intermediate Principal (Grades 3-5) and Middle School Principal (Grades 6-8), highlighted by receiving the Pittsburgh Business Times Distinguished Academic Achievement Award in multiple years under his tenure.

Under Deramo’s leadership, the South Fayette Middle School was also a recipient of the Don Eichhorn Pennsylvania Association for Middle-Level Education Schools to Watch Award. This award recognizes Pennsylvania middle schools that exhibit strong foundations within academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity, and organizational structure and processes.

Mr. Deramo graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997 with a B.A. in Sociology and a Master of Education in 1998. Immediately following his graduation, Mr. Deramo accepted a role as a middle-level Social Studies teacher and football coach in the West Mifflin Area School District from 1998-2004. Mr. Deramo also served as an elementary principal, assistant middle school principal, and head middle school principal within the West Mifflin Area School District from 2004 to 2009. Mr. Deramo received his principal certification and Letter of Eligibility for school district leadership at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Education at Point Park University.

Mr. Deramo and his wife, Barbara, are proud parents of three daughters: Sage (19), Mia (16), and Brooklyn (13).

Mr. Deramo said, “North Allegheny is widely recognized as a premier school district in Pennsylvania and within our Nation. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with Superintendent Dr. Brendan Hyland, who has already established high expectations of excellence in everything we strive to do for students at N.A. I appreciate Dr. Hyland and the Board for their belief and confidence in me to work collaboratively with all district stakeholders, focusing on advancing our district forward for many years to come. It’s a great day to be a Tiger!”
