Jamie Sousa is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 13 years of experience working with first responder and military/veteran populations. Jamie is a certified EMDR therapist, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and holds national board certification. Her work with clients focuses primarily on alleviating the symptoms of trauma (complex) to help her clients find connection, regain control, and remain effective in their chosen roles. Jamie has extensive training in advanced protocols to deliver Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment proven to reduce symptoms associated with PTSD. Jamie pulls from additional training in somatic psychotherapy, ego state therapy, and many meditative and alternative practices. Her clients appreciate her approach to therapy, a blend of warmth, creativity, and science with simple, practical direction.
Jamie has served as a licensed supervisor for a fire rescue peer support team, providing mental health services including counseling, consultation, and training. Additionally, she has years of experience working in military hospitals, substance use facilities, and enjoys offering grief counseling and family therapy. Jamie's priority as a therapist is to guide her clients to a place of recovery and hope.
